Just bought a jimny Empty
PostSubject: Just bought a jimny    Just bought a jimny EmptyFri Oct 18, 2013 6:11 am

Now then now then.
Hi all Iv just bought a jimny with a tasteful plan (I hope). Really want to put a 4" inch lift on her but Iv not seen that many knocking about on the web. I know it's a bit of a hassle to do by putting extra mods like:-
• cranked radius arms
• extended brake lines
• prop spacer (or. Extended prop)
• longer panhard rods
Probably missed a few things. But my question is after fitting the lift what's the best sized tyres I could run? I'm guessing 31s or 32s or would that be to much strain on the motor and tranny? Last thing I want to do is snap a shaft or blow a gasket.
I'm not new to fabrication and off road scene I just hoped that someone has already been there and done that and had the grief that I could heading into.
Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers. Jake. nnbn

hello & welcome to Yorkshire Suzuki ll

scotty is your man for jimny lift kits & he is in chesterfield too

there is a few of us done 4 to 5" lifts on jimnys with good success

as for tyre size 31x10.5x15 or 265/75/16 is a good size but best if you change transfer box to a sj lobster box or 410 box

Quite possibly true Wink
i'm snowed under at the minute getting the website stock up again, plus sorting the 4" lift out on mine. Your welcome to come up for a natter and cuppa next weekend whilst me and rich are fitting everything. Just got my arms to make this weekend and the panhard rods then i'm ready to fit it all.
Is yours a blank canvas i.e. bog standard....

More or less it has a winch bumper fitted il will be removing it soon and selling it as I'm sure it's for a sj not a jimny. Iv got a standard bumper coming. But other that that it full bog standard. Would be good to talk to you about it where abouts in Chesterfield are you?
